What I like about my friends at Naakaa (def. Hangout corner, in hindi - addaa), is their attitude towards life, so much optimistic, care free, enjoying each moment to the fullest. Thanks to my schoolmate Swapnil who introduced me to his friends. These fellows hang out most of the evenings at a corner near Phadke road. Some regularly come while some drop occassionally.
It was in 2003 that I found myself at this place on weekends. Quite some time it had been my sole source of entertainment. We met 1-2 hours in evening, shared our experiences and stories, cracked many jokes, teasing each other (taang khichana) and passing comments on crowd. Passing by junta thought us eve teasers! Who cared of them. What ever these guys appear, they are true from heart. Very much direct and tell you whatever they think about you. I met these guys when I had some bad experience with people – way they behave and way they appear. Ever since then, I am proud to be part of this group – we call ourselves “WE DARE”

Biking is the latest passion of WE DARE junta. Now that most of them have bikes, gives us new dimension to our treks. This time I joined them as a “free rider” for trip to Ajoba.
Ajoba is one of the highest mountains in Sahyadri, around 100 kms from Mumbai. Midway of this mountain in the forests is Valmiki Ashram. Its believed that Valmiki wrote Ramanyan sitting in the ashram here. Little ahead of this ashram is mountain col called Sitecha Paalana (craddle of Seeta) and Love Kush caves. Apart from its linkages with Hindu mythology, Ajoba mountains are home to great forests, waterfalls and lovely trails. To reach Ajoba from Mumbai on has to go on NH3 Mumbai Agra highway till Asangaon/Shahapur (around 80 kms from Mumbai, 50 from Kalyan), then follow diversion to Dolkhamb (another 20 kms), then to village Dehne which is at the base of Ajoba (another 10 kms). Alternately, one can follow Mumbai Ahmednager Highway, ahead of Murbad take diversion from Saralgaon to Village Shenva. From Shenva one can go to Dolkhamb and Dehne. We followed the first route on our onward journey and latter route on return journey.

This game I learned during my junior college days and used to play often in crowded local trains on our way to and fro college. Very little is known about this game. This game comes handy in boring MACR classes. :D
The game is played between two players. The rules of the games are like this:
One person thinks about a four digit number such that
The number to be filled in each position can be any number from 0-9
No two digits are repeated
The number to be a four digit number, in other words first digit cannot be zero
You then make an intelligent guess of that number.
After every guess, first person will tell the number of Bulls and cows. Number of cows signifies that as many digit in the guessed number /are right but are not in correct positions. Number of bulls signifies that number of digits in the guessed number is/are right and are also at correct positions. However a correct number at right position will be considered a bull and not a cow.
The game continues with second guess and so on until the correct number is reached.
The objective of the game is to guess the correct number in minimum possible guesses. Read the rest of this entry »

Two things I always failed to understand are God and Women. Though it is very easy to ignore God, ignoring women is not that easy.
I had spend my childhood days in outskirts of a town along with locals, and hence was very much protected. Possibly this was the reason why I had very few friends. That was seen in my solitary behaviour at schools. A studious kid, very serious, shy of girls - so sincere :)
We shifted our residence, but my friends were very limited and no girls! College days werent different either. Though this time I had started working with a NGO, which opened me up; as my mom says. I had so many friends now. But still no girls. I am so sincere!
